Shepherd's book is excellent, not simply for his reminiscences but also for the insights into security considerations when acting as a consultant. This is a book written by someone who knows what he is talking about.

Just finished reading "The Circuit" which was written in a very accessible way. It seems evident that wars are being conducted with the help of private and unaccountable armies.

I bought this book with the expectation that it would be some kind of academic, analytical work, filled with statistics and numerical data. I expected sterilised body counts, financial data, case studies, etc...
